Football Recap: Chapel Hill Piles Up the Points Against Palestine

There's no place like home for Chapel Hill, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Palestine Wildcats 72-28. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won three contests by 31 points or more so far this season.

It was another big night for Malik Gee, who threw for 177 yards and four TDs, and also rushed for 33 yards. Ryan Harris was in the mix as well, providing Chapel Hill with two scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Chapel Hill was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 330 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 18 points in total. All came from Estevan Sandoval: he went 3-for-3 kicking field goals for nine points, and 9-for-9 kicking extra points for an additional nine.

Chapel Hill's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.3 points over those games. As for Palestine, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Chapel Hill wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 21-7 loss against Kilgore on the 10th. As for Palestine, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 43-14 defeat against Lindale on the 10th.
