Basketball Game Preview: Ocosta Wildcats vs. Willapa Valley Vikings

The Ocosta Wildcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Willapa Valley Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Saturday, Ocosta came up short against North Beach and fell 50-41. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Willapa Valley had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They escaped with a win against the Elks by the margin of a single free throw, 2-1. The two-point effort marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Willapa Valley is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for Ocosta, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.

Ocosta took a serious blow against Willapa Valley when the teams last played back in January, falling 61-30. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Ocosta was down 38-13.
