Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Brady Rynd and Walker Carroll Lead Cochranton to Victory

Cochranton had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 57-41 victory over the Maplewood Tigers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 67-49 back in December of 2024.

Leading Cochranton to victory were Walker Carroll and Brady Rynd. Carroll went 7 of 17 en route to 21 points along with eight assists and five boards, while Rynd went 10 for 13 on his way to 21 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. The matchup was Carroll's 15th in a row with at least ten points. Dawson Matt was another key player, putting up six points.

Cochranton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Cochranton's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Maplewood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.

Cochranton will venture away from home to challenge Jamestown at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Maplewood, they will challenge Cambridge Springs at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
