Softball Recap: Fall Creek Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Fall Creek had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They blew past the Stanley-Boyd Orioles 14-2. Considering the Crickets have won nine matches by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Fall Creek pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Stanley-Boyd, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Fall Creek is set to square off against their familiar foe McDonell Central at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Crickets 3, the Macks 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Stanley-Boyd will challenge rival Thorp at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
