Basketball Game Preview: Woodstock Wolverines vs. Riverwood Raiders

Woodstock hasn't had much luck against Riverwood recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Woodstock Wolverines will host the Riverwood Raiders at 3:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Woodstock is returning to their home court after beating Sequoyah on theirs, despite the fact Sequoyah has dominated at home this season. Woodstock skirted past Sequoyah 62-59. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wolverines have posted since December 7, 2024.

Meanwhile, Riverwood posted their biggest victory since December 13, 2024 on Friday. They put the hurt on Lassiter with a sharp 64-43 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raiders.

Woodstock has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-12 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Riverwood, their victory bumped their record up to 14-9.

Woodstock couldn't quite finish off Riverwood when the teams last played back in December of 2024 and fell 67-64. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Riverwood's Jr Leonard, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 14 rebounds.
