Softball Game Preview: Valley Cavaliers vs. North Yarmouth Academy Panthers

The Valley Cavaliers will take on the North Yarmouth Academy Panthers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. North Yarmouth Academy took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Valley, who comes in off a win.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Valley and Forest Hills meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Cavaliers were the clear victors by an 18-4 margin over the Tigers. The Cavaliers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by seven runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, North Yarmouth Academy entered their game against St. Dominic on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Panthers came up short against the Saints, falling 12-3. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

North Yarmouth Academy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lily Fortin, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

Valley's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for North Yarmouth Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 10-3.
