Softball Game Preview: Livingston Wolves vs. Johansen Vikings

The Livingston Wolves will venture away from home to face off against the Johansen Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Livingston is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest loss since March 26, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against Spanish Springs, falling 10-2.

Livingston saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elizabeth Avila, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Johansen lost 14-2 to Central Valley on Monday. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Livingston's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Johansen, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Johansen's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Livingston has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.6 hits per game. It's a different story for Johansen, though, as they've been averaging 8.9 hits. Given Livingston's sizable advantage in that area, Johansen will need to find a way to close that gap.

Livingston took their victory against Johansen in their previous matchup back in March of 2019 by a conclusive 9-2. Will Livingston repeat their success, or does Johansen has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
