Volleyball Recap: Smethport Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Otto-Eldred, Smethport was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They blew past the Galeton Tigers 3-0. The Hubbers not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 26, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

Alyssa Ayers paced Smethport's offense, picking up ten kills. Ayers got some help from Jenna Goodman and her 14 assists. Ayers was also solid from the service line: she led the team with eight aces.

Smethport's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Galeton, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Smethport will head out to take on Ridgway at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Galeton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Coudersport at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
