League recap: Messalonskee's Breton delivers best pitching performance from past week

A East league recap: 5/30/13

Patrick Breton was the best pitcher in A East this week, leading Messalonskee. He struck out four batters this week.

With a big week, Cony jumped into the top 25 in the state rankings. Cony moved up from No. 31 in the state all the way to No. 22 thanks to a 3-0 record over the past week.

The Eagles' pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 24 hits and eight walks to lead the league in both categories.

Messalonskee's Breton led the league in strikeouts this week with four. With 12 strikeouts this year so far, he ranks third in the league.



The Eagles' Jonathan Wilkie was locked in this week, and led the league with a .429 average (3-for-7) over that span. His average for the season stands at .306, which ranks sixth in the league. Wilkie has accumulated 11 base knocks this year so far.
