Tj Ortiz leads Las Animas to victory over Calhan

The Las Animas Trojans had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They managed a 61-55 win over Calhan on Saturday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Tj Ortiz, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds. Aaron Vargas was another key contributor, scoring six points.
The win got Las Animas back to even at 5-5. As for Calhan, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-5.
Las Animas will be playing in front of their home fans against Rocky Ford at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rocky Ford is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Calhan, they will head out on the road to challenge Byers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Byers' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups.
