While Evans's victory against Screven County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Knights sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Gamecocks on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Knights have posted since August 21, 2024.

Braedyn Quarles was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Brittney Smith, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Evans has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs this season. As for Screven County, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Evans has already played their next matchup, a 14-2 victory against Burke County on the 9th. As for Screven County, they will take on Jenkins County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
