Softball Game Preview: Hall-Dale Bulldogs vs. Dirigo Cougars

Hall-Dale has gone a perfect 10-0 against Dirigo recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will take on the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Hall-Dale 1.7, Dirigo 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Hall-Dale is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Lisbon 3-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Bulldogs, who have now won five contests in a row.

Dirigo hadn't beaten Monmouth Academy on the road since May 29, 2019 but that history sure didn't bother them on Saturday. The Cougars narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Mustangs 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Dirigo's victory bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Hall-Dale, their win bumped their record up to 16-2.

Hall-Dale beat Dirigo 8-5 when the teams last played back in May. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
