Football Game Preview: Woods Cross Wildcats vs. Alta Hawks

The Woods Cross Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the Alta Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Woods Cross has three straight wins, Alta has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Woods Cross is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Bountiful, who was ranked 24th at the time (Woods Cross was ranked 15th). The Wildcats strolled past the Redhawks with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 28-14.

Meanwhile, Alta might've scored the first points on Friday, but it was Olympus who claimed the real prize. The Hawks lost 45-22 to the Titans. The matchup was a close 10-9 at the break, but unfortunately for the Hawks it sure didn't stay that way.

Alta's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Woods Cross, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Woods Cross was dealt a bruising 42-14 defeat at the hands of Alta in their previous matchup back in August of 2018. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Wildcats were down 28-7.
