It was a good run, but Derby unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 2-0 to the Maize South Mavericks. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Mavericks this season, with their most recent defeat being a 2-0 loss two weeks ago.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-21.

Derby now has a losing record of 8-9-1. As for Maize South, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Derby and Valley Center will shake off the rust and duke it out on Tuesday. As for Maize South, they will head out to face off against Washburn Rural on Thursday.
