Baseball Recap: Red Level Find Success

Red Level took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Samson, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Red Level had just enough and edged out Samson 8-7 on Monday. The victory was some much needed relief for Red Level as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Connor Blackwell, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayson Ward, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Red Level's win bumped their record up to 5-12. As for Samson, they dropped their record down to 3-16 with the defeat, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Red Level and Samson could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. The Tigers (ranked 342nd) will meet Flomaton (ranked 158th) at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Samson will take on Cottonwood at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (406 vs. 181).
