Basketball Recap: Naeem Rivers' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Averroes over Bentley

After flying high against Contra Costa Christian last Friday, Averroes came back down to earth. The Falcon came up short against the Bentley Phoenix on Friday, falling 62-36. The Falcon were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Phoenix apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.

Several Falcon players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Naeem Rivers, who posted 18 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Amin Khairzada, who earned nine points.

Averroes' defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Averroes and Bentley will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Falcon see the court they'll take on Point Arena at 4:00 p.m. on December 4. As for Bentley, their break will end when they face Oakland Military Institute at 6:00 p.m. on December 2.
