Basketball Recap: Summit Tahoma Tigers vs. Cindy Avitia Jaguars
Even though the Cindy Avitia Jaguars scored an imposing 62 points on Tuesday, the Summit Tahoma Tigers still came out on top. Summit Tahoma secured a 68-62 W over the Jaguars. Summit Tahoma pushed the score to 57-35 by the end of the third, a deficit the Jaguars cut but never quite recovered from.
J Jay was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with seven steals. Nasser Melhem was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Summit Tahoma has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Cindy Avitia, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.
Summit Tahoma will head out on the road to square off against the Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. University Prep Academy will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. Cindy Avitia will take on the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. KIPP Navigate College Prep is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
