Baseball Recap: Marysville-Pilchuck Tomahawks vs. Snohomish Panthers

Marysville-Pilchuck had lost 16 straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 0-16 to make it 17. They lost 7-1 to the Snohomish Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 on Wednesday.

Marysville-Pilchuck saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Donavan Faulkner, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Ryker Stewart also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

As for Snohomish, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Considering they have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

On Snohomish's side, Rider Walsh made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Walsh has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

In other pitching news, Enzo Porletto looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
