Basketball Recap: Columbia Central Takes a Loss

Columbia Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They fell 64-56 to the Shelbyville Central Golden Eagles. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Columbia Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Shelbyville Central, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbia Central will face off against Lincoln County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Columbia Central is facing Lincoln County at the right time seeing as Lincoln County is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Shelbyville Central, they are taking a road trip to face off against Coffee County Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Shelbyville Central's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
