Football Recap: Amplus Academy Comes Up Short

Monday just wasn't the day for Amplus Academy's offense. They took a blow against the Arbor View Aggies on Monday, falling 54-0. The Archers were probably out for revenge after losing 56-0 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Arbor View found their leader in freshman Priscilla Garcia, who threw for 215 yards and five touchdowns while completing 80% of her passes. Garcia has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jayda Emil, who picked up 38 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Amplus Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Arbor View, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Amplus Academy will welcome Cimarron-Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Arbor View, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Centennial at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Arbor View's favor as the squad sits on eight straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Centennial has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
