Baseball Recap: Cusick Takes a Loss

Oroville hit Cusick with a five-run second inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 8-7. The Panthers have struggled against the Hornets recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Cusick saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Judah S, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI. S has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another was David L, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Cusick's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Oroville, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0-1.

Cusick and Oroville will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Panthers see the field they'll take on Republic at 2:00 p.m. on the 14th. As for Oroville, their break will end when they face Manson at 4:00 p.m. on the 14th.
