Luella snaps three-game streak of wins on the road

Recap: Luella Lions vs. Stockbridge Tigers

It was a good run, but the Luella Lions unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 64-44 walloping at the hands of Stockbridge. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Luella has suffered since December 21, 2023.

Luella's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kayla Williams, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Journyey Bryant, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.

Carrington Wilson was her usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with nine rebounds and six steals for Stockbridge. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wilson has scored all season. Jazlyn Ware was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

Luella's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-8. As for Stockbridge, their victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Luella will square off against Lovett at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lovett is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Stockbridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Pace Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Pace Academy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
