Football Recap: Pima Skates Past Madison Highland Prep with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pima). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 61-0 win over the Madison Highland Prep Heat. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Roughriders considering their 13-point performance the matchup before.

Rooster Alder was his usual excellent self, rushing for 132 yards and three scores on only 12 carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cedrick Grimes, who threw for 81 yards and three TDs.

Pima's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB 5.5 times. Madison Highland Prep's QB won't forget Colt Lunt anytime soon given he sacked him twice.

The victory (which was Pima's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.8 points over those games. As for Madison Highland Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Pima does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Madison Highland Prep, they will venture away from home to face off against Learning Foundation & Performing Arts at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Heat will be up against the Wolves' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.83 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
