Preview: Douglas vs. Cascade Christian
On Friday Cascade Christian take on Douglas at 7:00 PM. Douglas will need to watch out since Cascade Christian have now posted big point totals in their last four contests.
Last Friday, Cascade Christian put the finishing touches on their 5th blowout victory of the season. They put a hurting on South Umpqua to the tune of 52-0. Junior Elijah Smith and junior Kiegan Schaan were among the main playmakers for Cascade Christian as the former rushed for 82 yards and 2 touchdowns and the latter accumulated 196 passing yards and picked up 41 yards on the ground. Schaan has been a consistent playmaker for Cascade Christian as this was the 6th good game in a row from him.
Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for Douglas, and their game last Friday only extended their streak of losses to six. They had victory within their grasp but couldn't quite capture it as the team lost 18-19 to Brookings-Harbor. Things were expected to be close, but in this case the state rankings mixed up the winning team.
Cascade Christian's victory lifted them to 5-1 while Douglas's defeat dropped them down to 0-6. We'll find out if Cascade Christian can add another positive mark to their record or if Douglas can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Cascade Christian's step.
