Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for University

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for University on Thursday. They strolled past the Eaton Reds with points to spare, taking the game 56-41. The win was familiar territory for the Bulldogs who have now won three contests in a row.

University's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Coehn Nitzel, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. Nitzel has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 13 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Marcus Prestwich, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 18 points.

University was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eaton only racked up eight assists.

Despite the loss, Eaton still got an impressive performance from Austin Crider, who posted 13 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Crider a new career-high in blocks (three). Noah Sprinkle was another key player, putting up eight points and five boards.

University has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Eaton, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-7.

University has already played their next game (against Sterling), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Eaton will square off against Peak to Peak at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Eaton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.7 points per game this season.
