Softball Recap: Orange Grove Has No Trouble Against Falfurrias

Orange Grove got themselves on the board against Falfurrias on Tuesday, but Falfurrias never followed suit. They were the clear victor by a 15-0 margin over the Falfurrias Fightin' Jerseys.

Malorie Velasco made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and only a hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Velasco was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

In other batting news, Orange Grove got a massive performance out of Ella Srubar, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave Srubar a new career-high in RBI. Shaelee Meyer was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Orange Grove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Falfurrias only posted an OBP of .200.

Orange Grove now has a winning record of 1-0-1.

Orange Grove wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 18-0 win against Kaufer on the 14th. As for Falfurrias, they have also already played their next match, a 10-7 defeat against Rockport-Fulton on the 13th.
