Softball Recap: Whitesboro Bearcats vs. Carthage Bulldogs
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Reedy, Whitesboro was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the Carthage Bulldogs by a score of 6-2.
Avery Howerton made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bradi Gallaway, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Makayla Wolf was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
Whitesboro always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
