Basketball Recap: Thomas Dale Takes a Loss

Thomas Dale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 50-39 to the Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 91st in Virginia, while the Panthers and Pantherettes are ranked 28th in Texas).

Duncanville found their leader in sophomore Samari Holmen, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Trystan James, who posted 11 points and eight rebounds.

Thomas Dale's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Duncanville, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thomas Dale will host Meadowbrook at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Thomas Dale is facing Meadowbrook at the right time seeing as Meadowbrook is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Duncanville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Skyline at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Duncanville will also cruise into their next contest with the timing on their side: Skyline will have lost ten straight heading into Tuesday's match.
