COLLINS, Miss. - After trading leads three times,
Bassfield (Miss.) snatched the lead for good when they ran for a touchdown in the third quarter, paving the way for victory over
Collins (Miss.) 28-12.
After nabbing the lead on a
M.J. McLaurin touchdown pass to
Calvin Keys, the Tigers went into halftime with a 12-7 lead. The Yellowjackets took the lead for good with a rushing touchdown in the third quarter.
A 12-6 Bassfield victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The loss comes after Collins defeated Bay Springs 46-0 last week. With the win BHS extended its winning streak to four games. The loss snapped Collins' two-game winning streak.
Collins (2-2) will play a non-conference game against Lawrence County next week, while Bassfield (4-0) will take on Hazlehurst also in a non-conference game.
