Baseball Recap: Holy Redeemer Beats Tunkhannock for Their Sixth Straight Win

Holy Redeemer won the last time they faced Tunkhannock and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Royals put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 7-0 win. Considering the Royals have won five matches by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Zachary Schultz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Cody Quaglia was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. Drew Cisney was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

The victory keeps Holy Redeemer at an undefeated 6-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average this season. As for Tunkhannock, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holy Redeemer will square off against Scranton at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Knights will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Royals surely won't give up without a fight. As for Tunkhannock, they will take on Lake-Lehman at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
