Volleyball Recap: Santiago Takes a Loss

Santiago lost against Redlands back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Sharks fell just short of the Terriers by a score of 2-1. The Sharks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Their offense was headlined by Devyn Dahlin and Addisyn Ellis, who picked up seven kills apiece. They were helped by Kaedyn Blotzer and Sophia Martinez, who contributed 12 assists each. Emerson Newton controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Leading Redlands to victory were Ava Reyes and Ella Namsang. Reyes had 14 digs and three assists, while Namsang had nine assists and four digs. That's the most assists Namsang has posted since back in September.

Santiago now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Redlands, they are on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 20 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-4 record this season.

Santiago didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Bonita Vista on the 11th. As for Redlands, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Louisville on the 11th.
