Softball Recap: Canton Has No Trouble Against Novi

Canton barely beat Novi the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cobras put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 12-1 victory on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Cobras have posted against the Wildcats since April 10, 2019.

Samantha Moore spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alisha Lynch, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Rachel Aeck was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.

Canton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Canton's victory bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Novi, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Canton will welcome Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Novi, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mott at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats are facing the Corsairs at the right time seeing as the Corsairs are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
