Baseball Game Preview: Citronelle Wildcats vs. Bibb County Choctaws

The Citronelle Wildcats will head out to square off against the Bibb County Choctaws at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Citronelle has given up an average of 8.1 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Citronelle lost 17-7 to Charles Henderson on Wednesday.

Citronelle saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Curvin Noyd, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Noyd has become a key player for Citronelle: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-7 otherwise. JJ Rivers was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Even though they lost, Citronelle was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Bibb County had just enough and edged out Sipsey Valley 3-2 on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Choctaws in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won three in a row.

Citronelle's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Bibb County, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
