With a playoff win on the line, Woodland rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past the East Valley Red Devils 16-8. Considering the Beavers have won 14 matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Emma Barrow was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brynn Skelton, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Woodland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Valley only managed eight hits.
The victory (which was Woodland's fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.8 runs over those games. As for East Valley, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-6-1.
As of now, neither Woodland nor the Red Devils have any future games scheduled.
