Durham Academy was the 52-33 winner over Cary Academy when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Durham Academy Cavaliers took a 50-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cary Academy Chargers. The Cavaliers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Cary Academy's win on Tuesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jasmine Phillips, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 16 rebounds. Those 16 boards gave Phillips a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Annalise Dematteis, who went 5 of 7 on her way to 12 points and five rebounds.

Durham Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Cary Academy, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Durham Academy will take on North Raleigh Christian Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. North Raleigh Christian Academy will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Durham Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cary Academy, they will face off against Ravenscroft at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
