Softball Recap: Economedes Triumphs

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Economedes). They put the hurt on the Valley View Tigers with a sharp 13-4 victory on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Jaguars have posted since March 2, 2024.

Adrienne Tagle made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Miranda Aguirre, who scored two runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. What's more, she also posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Evelyn Cano, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Economedes' first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3-1. As for Valley View, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-4.

Looking ahead, Economedes will face off against Rivera at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Economedes is facing Rivera at the right time seeing as Rivera is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Valley View, they will take on Taft in a tournament on Thursday. Taft's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Valley View's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
