Volleyball Recap: Bruton Falls to Tabb in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Bruton unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 3-1 to the Tabb Tigers on Thursday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Bruton started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-16, 25-19, 25-12.

Addison Newman Newman paced Bruton's offense, picking up 15 kills. Newman got some help from Annalise Wood and her ten assists. Wood was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

The win got Tabb back to even at 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Bruton will face off against rival Smithfield at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Tabb is set to challenge their familiar foe Poquoson at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
