Basketball Recap: East Central Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Kaleigh Meadows and Teagan Leihgeber

East Central suffered their biggest loss since November 27, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 54-30 to the Dixie Heights Colonels. The defeat continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Colonels: they've now lost three in a row.

Despite the loss, East Central had strong showings from Teagan Leihgeber, who posted two points along with ten rebounds and three steals, and Kaleigh Meadows, who earned seven points. That's the most points Meadows has posted since back in November of 2024.

East Central's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Dixie Heights, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

East Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 52-29 victory against Rushville on the 15th. As for Dixie Heights, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-44 win against St. Henry on the 17th.
