Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Unioto's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Unioto won the last time they faced Logan Elm and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Shermans put the hurt on the Braves with a sharp 9-3 win. Considering the Shermans have won five games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jacob Renner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Callaway Ratliff, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Pucket, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Unioto is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.1 runs over those games. As for Logan Elm, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Unioto will face off against Huntington at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Shermans 2.2, the Huntsmen 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Logan Elm, they will take on Hamilton Township at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
