Softball Recap: Springport Gets the Win

While Springport's victory against Sand Creek wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Spartans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over the Aggies on Wednesday. That's more bragging rights for the Spartans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Springport has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That somehow still isn't as good as their 16-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Sand Creek, they dropped their record down to 5-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Springport has already played their next game (against Hillsdale), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Sand Creek, they will venture away from home to square off against Whitmore Lake at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
