Football Recap: Roosevelt Comes Up Short

Roosevelt lost against Norco back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mustangs took a blow against the Cougars, falling 50-14. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 168th, while the Cougars are ranked 42nd).

Although Roosevelt took the loss, they still got scores from Nathan Ramirez and Josh Dailey.

Julian Medina continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Norco, throwing for 311 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.9% of his passes, and also rushing for 31 yards and one TD. Medina is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Lee White, who gained 107 total yards and three touchdowns.

This is the second loss in a row for Roosevelt and nudges their season record down to 3-4. As for Norco, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1.

Roosevelt has already played their next matchup, a 42-0 defeat against Vista Murrieta on the 17th. As for Norco, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 56-28 loss against Chaparral on the 17th.
