Chatfield faced Columbine in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Chargers came out on top against the Rebels by a score of 32-20. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Chargers considering their 12-point performance the matchup before.

Chatfield's defense made their presence known, laying out Ella Rieben four times. Vyolet Harris was especially locked on to Columbine's QB and sacked her twice. Harris is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as she's now posted at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

Several Rebels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rieben, who rushed for 42 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 274 yards and one TD. Rieben also deserves a shoutout for her performance on D, making five total tackles and defending two passes in addition to snagging an interception.

The victory got Chatfield back to even at 7-7. As for Columbine, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-7 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chatfield will square off against Arvada West at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Chargers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Columbine, they will face off against Ralston Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs' defense has only allowed 8.5 points per game this season, so the Rebels' offense will have their work cut out for them.
