Basketball Recap: Surry HomeSchool Takes a Loss

Surry HomeSchool was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 62-41 to the New Life Camp Storm. While losing is never fun, the Runnin' Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 470th, while the Storm are ranked 205th).

Caroline Brown was her usual excellent self, shooting 48% from the field on her way to 22 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists for New Life Camp. New Life Camp is 7-3 when Brown posts 15 or more points, but 5-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Julie Kranz, who posted 11 points and seven boards.

Surry HomeSchool's defeat dropped their record down to 7-19. As for New Life Camp, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-11.

Coming up, Surry HomeSchool and Greater Cabarrus S will face off at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday without much rest, having both just played. Surry HomeSchool will be up against Greater Cabarrus S' rather soft defense (which has allowed 50.69 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for New Life Camp, they have already played their next game, a 50-40 win against Greenville H on the 5th.
