Football Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Carson's Winning Streak

If Carson was riding high fresh off their 41-20 takedown of Salisbury last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars fell 21-14 to the West Rowan Falcons on Friday. The contest was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but the Cougars couldn't quite close it out.

Despite the loss, Carson saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Damo'N Broussard rushed for 122 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Broussard's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards.

West Rowan found their leader in sophomore Devaunh White, who rushed for 224 yards and one score while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Those 224 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for White.

Carson didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 49-14 loss against Northwest Cabarrus on the 3rd. As for West Rowan, they have also already played their next matchup, a 48-6 victory against South Rowan on the 3rd.
