Basketball Recap: Austin Achieve's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Austin Achieve needed a changed in momentum after dropping six straight games and they got it from Cash Silver. The Austin Achieve Polar Bears snuck past the Smithville Tigers with a 45-40 win on Tuesday thanks in part to Silver, who went 9 for 22 on his way to 28 points and four steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Austin Achieve's points.

Austin Achieve's victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Smithville, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Austin Achieve and Smithville could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Austin Achieve (ranked 1547th) will meet LBJ Austin (ranked 636th) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Smithville (ranked 1447th) will meet Lake Belton (ranked 668th) at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
