The Hudson Valley is highly regarded for its growing number of top-notch boys lacrosse programs, but before you get the idea that lacrosse is the king of spring throughout the Hudson Valley, consider this: Nine of the top 25 teams in the MaxPreps New York Baseball Computer Rankings presented by the Army National Guard are from the Hudson Valley as well.

Two are from Section 9, which is made up of Orange, Sullivan and Ulster counties, No. 1 Monroe-Woodbury as well as No. 6 Kingston.

The other seven are Section 1 squads: No. 2 Roy C. Ketcham, No. 8 Arlington, No. 12 Mamaroneck, No. 15 White Plains, No. 16 North Rockland, No. 19 John Jay-Cross River and No. 24 Mahopac.
