Recap: Central Davidson Spartans vs. North Rowan Cavaliers
On Monday, in a tight match that could have gone either way, Central Davidson made off with a 51-50 win over North Rowan. The victory was all the more spectacular given Central Davidson's disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 211th, while North Rowan is ranked 92nd).
Central Davidson found their leader in underclassman Raegan McCarn, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which McCarn has scored at least 25% of Central Davidson's points. Abigail Thomas was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.
Central Davidson is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for North Rowan, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
Central Davidson has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Trinity at 6:00 p.m. on December 20th. North Rowan won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Thomasville at 6:30 p.m. on December 19th. Thomasville comes in on a streak of failing to score more than eight points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
