Basketball Recap: Inwood Academy Piles Up the Points Against Community Health Academy

Inwood Academy won the last time they faced Community Health Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Trailblazers blew past Community Health Academy 97-65. The Trailblazers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season.

Leading Inwood Academy to victory were Julien Alicea and Matthew Federo. Alicea shot 8-for-14 from long range and dropped a double-double with 26 points and 12 assists, while Federo went 13-for-24 en route to 33 points along with six assists and four steals. Federo's big performance that afternoon made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hectbermi Ferreira, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards.

Inwood Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Inwood Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Community Health Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Inwood Academy and Harlem Village Academy will compete for holiday cheer at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Community Health Academy will take on Wadleigh in a holiday battle at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
