Soccer Game Preview: Wayne County vs. Marist

The Wayne County Yellow Jackets will head out to face off against the Marist War Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Friday just wasn't the day for Wayne County's offense. They fell just short of Long County by a score of 1-0 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Wayne County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 241st, while Long County are ranked 107th).

Meanwhile, Marist had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 goals) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Bulldogs as they made off with a 4-1 win. The result was nothing new for Marist, who have now won ten contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Marist's victory bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Wayne County, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.
