Basketball Recap: Hemlock's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

It was a good run, but Hemlock unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 43-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New Lothrop Hornets. The Huskies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2021.

Hemlock's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addison Stockford, who posted nine points. The dominant performance gave Stockford a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Victoria Hauffe, who earned 12 points and five rebounds.

Hemlock's defeat dropped their record down to 21-4. As for New Lothrop, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-3.

Hemlock does not have any more games scheduled as of now. New Lothrop has already played their next match (against Lumen Christi Catholic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
